The Central Coast Labor Team stands Up for Fair Developer Contributions to community infrastructure on the Central Coast.

As the Central Coast Council election approaches, Gosford East Ward lead candidate for Labor, Sharon Walsh, is reaffirming the Labor Team’s commitment to ensuring developers contribute their fair share to our community's infrastructure and services.

In contrast, Team Central Coast’s Lawrie McKinna, has boasted about reducing developer contributions from 4% to 1% when he was Mayor of Gosford City Council, putting the burden on local ratepayers and threatening the delivery of vital community projects.

"Reducing developer contributions would be a devastating blow to our community," Ms Walsh said. "These contributions are crucial in funding essential infrastructure and services, such as roads, footpaths, sporting grounds, community facilities and open spaces."

"By setting contributions at reasonable levels, we can ensure developers pay their fair share and support the growth and development of our region. The Central Coast Labor Team will not support any moves to further reduce these contributions and shift the burden to local residents."

Ms Walsh highlighted the importance of responsible development and the need for developers to contribute fairly to the community's growth.

"Developers must contribute to the infrastructure and services that support their projects. It's only fair that they pay their share, rather than passing the costs on to local residents."
